Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 17 years and 2 months old | 60 lbs

My friends black Lab has a lump on her chest. It's about the size of a tennis ball. She I about 17 years old. It doesn't seem to be hurting her physically, but I just wanted to ask is this normal?

It could be a benign mass or tumor like a lipoma, or it could be something more serious. If the lump is new, if it seems painful, or if it is very firm and fixed in place you should encourage your friend to get it checked out by a veterinarian soon.
