Is Seresto safe for a dog with liver problems and active fleas/ticks?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 6 lbs

Just moved to KY. Adopted rescue pup. She had high ammonia which caused liver problems. Ammonia now ok but still on liver med. Has all day rest on 25th with rescue center vet. Meanwhile is it safe to use Soresto. It doesn't seem to absorb into liver. We have fleas, ticks, chiggers! I don't yet have a vet here. Been in Ky 3 weeks.

Yes, Seresto is a good choice. From personal experience I find that swimming reduces the number of months this product works, so best to remove before getting wet, otherwise this is a great product for where you live. Please keep in mind that this does not protect against heartworm.
