Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | unspayed | 5 months and 6 days old | 2.8 lbs
I have a 5 month old Chihuahua . I took her to the vet today for a nail trim. The vet cut her back nail so short she yelled out and was bleeding . he then used a hot cauterizing pen on her wound and she continued to cry out. I ended up fainting from seeing her in so much pain. She continued to cry for 5 mins after we left and licking her nail. He did not bandage it or give her anything for pain or infection. Will she be ok? Im a wreck over this

I perfectly understand your frustration but unfortunately these kind of things happen all the time and are more common than you may think. Usually no further treatment is needed unless discomfort 24hours after nail cut. I would recommend to monitor the nails in case of any swelling or redness or discharge which may represent signs of infection.
