My husky ate pumpkin treats, now has stomach upset. Call vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Female | unspayed | 36 lbs

My 36 pound 5 month husky ate an entire box of no scoot plus pumpkin soft chewy bites. She started out hyper at first then the next day and half she threw up a couple times and has been even more tired after 7pm. She’s been relaxed but more sleepy. Her stomach is digesting a lot and making tummy rumbles. But not sure on her poop yet. I’ve been making her drink water, but I’m not sure to call the vet or have her keep drinking plenty of water because it could be just diarrhea. Help

She is likely going to have some major GI upset, especially if the treats contained a lot of fiber (which pumpkin does). Picking up her regular food and offering a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice may help with minor digestive upset and get her feeling better. If she doesn't pass stool, continues vomiting, seems very painful, has blood in her stool or vomit, or her stomach/abdomen look very bloated, painful or she is in distress, then it could indicate something more serious ongoing which should be seen ASAP by a vet.
