Pet's info: Dog | English Pointer | Male | neutered | 4 years and 8 months old | 80 lbs
I’ve read similar questions but have taken good pics in hopes of a more likely diagnosis. I am boarding Rudy for 2 more weeks and weighing the pros and cons of telling his owner, waiting, going to the vet, etc. There is a soft, movable bump under Rudy’s left ear, back of his jaw. He seems otherwise healthy, although may be eating less today. I understand this could be an abscess, or many other things. I’m curious if a professional would recommend I take him to the vet ASAP. Thanks.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If Rudy is eating and drinking fine, it is ok to wait until his owners come home to have the lump looked at. It only becomes emergent if it opens up and drains. You could let the owners know you found and and see what they would like but I wouldn’t consider it emergent. Good luck and kisses to Rudy!
