My dog knocked out a tooth and has a heart murmur. Vet now or later?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Male | neutered | 11 years old | 18 lbs

My dog just ran into the wall and knocked out a front tooth. He has a stage 5 heart murmur and is on medication for his heart. Do I need to get him to the vet asap or can I take him in tomorrow afternoon

Unless his jaw is bleeding profusely or he cannot eat or drink, or he is in serious pain, there likely is time until tomorrow to see the vet. If you can find the tooth it may help the veterinarian determine if the tooth came out with the root intact.
