My cat cries in the carrier. How to make vet trips less stressful?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | 11 years and 6 months old

Im pretty positive my cat has a URI and need to take her to the vet but she cries as soon as she gets into the cage, making herself sick so that makes it very difficult to transport her. Is there anything you can recommend that I can give her or do for her to make it less painful for the both of us? I heard Benadryl can be good...

You can try Feliway spray and also NaturVet Quiet Moments Calm Treats with Melatonin for cats which can be found at your local Petco. I hope this helps and makes for a stress free visit to the veterinarian! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
