My old pit bull has tumors. Vet suspects cancer. What should I do?

Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Male | unneutered | 105 lbs

Hi I have a 14 yr old pit bull he has these tumor looking things all over him One popped the day took to vet they said probably cancer but without X-ray and test they didn’t know I don’t have the $3500 to find out plus he might not make it through every thing what should I do ? I’ve had him 13.7 yrs. help. Kim

The tumor in your picture does look like it needs to be removed, but if there are multiple tumors and/or they are in a location that would make surgery challenging it could be a lot to put him through. You may want to ask your vet if a fine needle aspirate if the tumor or even a biopsy could help determine prognosis with surgery - if it is a tumor type that can be ‘cured’ with surgery it may be worth going forward. If the prognosis is not good surgery may not be worth it.
