How to get my kitten to sleep alone in the kitchen without crying?

[I'm reposting this question as I can't see the answer to the first post] My mum insists in putting our kitten to sleep in the kitchen at nighttime. The problem is that when we put her in and go away, she'll start crying and scratching the door, and I can't just "let her crying until she calms down". Now I can pet her until she falls asleep, but when I start school year that won't be an option anymore. What can I do so that she sleeps there at night? Pet's info: Cat | Russian Blue | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 25 days old
