What's this spot on my dog's belly? Bite, tick, or ringworm?

This spot is on my dogs belly, she lays outside a lot, I've noticed a lot of flies lately but I'm wondering if it's just a big bite or possible tick bite? It doesn't seem to bother her.

It could be an insect or tick bite, it could also be ringworm, if this does not get any better within a week you will need to take her to your vet in order to get it checked and treated. try to avoid contact as ringworm is contagious to humans as well.

    The lesion on Sydney's abdomen more closely resembles either a skin infection or ringworm. You do not need to rush to an emergency vet immediately for this type of lesion and can wait to take her to the vet in the next day or two. The vet will be able to examine her and may need to perform testing to get to the bottom of the cause. (Please note that ringworm is contagious to people and other animals.) The vet will be able to start any necessary antibiotics and/or antifungal medications. I hope that all goes well!

Dog has a 1/2 dollar sized red inflamed circle on belly. I have a picture but don't know how to send it. Doesn't seem to be spreading other dog is fine and so are we. So idont know that it's contagious
This lesion could indicate a local bacteria infection, possibly ringworm, an insect bite, or just an area of rotation of unknown cause. You could continue to monitor if you feel comfortable and if it does not go away within a few days I would reconsider seeing your veterinarian to ensure it's nothing contagious like ringworm. However if it starts to grow, bleed, become raised, or seems painful it should be seen sooner. In the meantime you could consider cleaning it with a very mild soap and warm water and keeping it clean and dry during the day. As there is a possibility it could be ringworm wash your hands thoroughly after handling the site.

Hi I just noticed my dog has a red circular rash on his belly by his privates. I can’t figure out if it’s a Tick bite, fly bite or ringworm
The most common reason that we see red circular rashes in dogs are actually bacterial skin infection. Tick bites rarely cause red circular rashes in dogs (it's more common in people). Ringworm certainly can cause a circular rash, but they often aren't red in dogs. I would recommend having your vet examine Chance and determine what they think is going on. They may be able to tell by looking at it, or they may need to do some special skin tests like skin scrapings or skin cytology in order to determine the best treatment for Chance. What are these red rings on my dog’s belly? There was one ring the previous night but now it has spread to become three (one is forming a ring and is very faint). I’ve previously removed one small tick from my dog that appears to not have sucked bloo
It looks like she has a pyoderma which is a skin infection. She should be examined and treated by your vet as she may need an antibiotic to treat the condition. In the meantime, you could bathe her with a medicated shampoo, like Douxo Chlorhexidine shampoo.

I have a 1 year old bichon/toy poodle mix. I just found this red spot on her belly. We live in southern NJ. Is this a tick bite? Should I be worried about Lyme’s?
Skin lesions like Coco has can be caused by bacterial, parasitic or fungal infection, dietary or environmental allergies or sensitivities, immune system disorders, an insect bite like you mentioned, or a combination of the above. I recommend making an appointment to have Coco seen by your veterinarian to help determine the cause of the lesion you’ve noticed and to make sure it is treated appropriately. The vet will likely want to look at a sample from the area under the microscope to determine if there is an infection and to figure out what medication is appropriate for treatment. In the meantime, you can bathe Coco in hypoallergenic shampoo for dogs to clean the area, but this will likely not resolve the lesion.I recommend getting Coco on parasite prevention year round. My dog got this circle rash on his belly. What is it and what can i do about it. I have placed a cone on him. Thank you everyone you are all the best.
That spot on Buddy could be several things including allergies, skin mites, ringworm (which humans can get) or a bacterial infection. You can try adding in an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for dogs, this can help improve the skin health. You may also try changing his diet to something like Royal Canin or Nutro as they are aimed at skin health. You can wash the lesion with soap once a day and rinse well (don't wash his whole body, just the spot). Protect the area from licking or scratching. If it doesn't start looking better within about a week or if they get worse, have him examined by the veterinarian who may prescribe medications. Ringworm, tick bite or possibly fly bite, it just appeared over night and seem to be fading.
There is no way to diagnose this via a photo, I am afraid. Only a hands-on exam in combination with a brush sample or a swab can help identify whether this is a fungal or bacterial lesion or a sting or bite. I would observe it over the weekend, and should it increase in size, start to ooze or change in appearance other than fade, you should have a veterinarian examine this lesion. there is no one treatment for all these causes. Do not put any ointment on it , just observe it.

I found this spot on Winston tonight. Curious if it's a tick or ringworm or black fly bites? And what should I do?
It’s hard to say from the photo. That could be an area where a tick bit Winston. It could also be some sort of puncture wound, spider bite or potentially a ringworm lesion. From the photo, the area looks swollen. Because of this I recommend to have him examined by the veterinarian with in the next 24 hours. A swollen tick bite or puncture wound could indicate the onset of an infection. There could also be a tick head or foreign object trapped in the skin. Ringworm generally does not swell but a deeper infection could. Make sure Winston does not lick the area and have him wear an Elizabethan collar. I hope this helps and best of luck. My dog recently a week ago started having a couple small flat red round circles with a defined outer line on his belly groin area. They went away after a day but then I started also getting itchy and he is too. Today there are at least ten of them. T
Oh no, poor Jax! It looks like he might have ringworm, which is a highly contagious fungal infection. Unfortunately it's contagious to humans, and if you are itching too, he may have passed it onto you. I would have him seen by a vet tomorrow. If he does have ringworm, the vet can prescribe medication to treat it. You should also go see your doctor if he has it so you can get treatment for it as well. Should he have ringworm, you will need to disinfect the environment because the spores can live in the home for up to 18 months. My 10 month old boxer has a red bullseye spot on her belly
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! A skin lesion like you are describing can have multiple causes, such as a tick (or other insect) bite, or a fungal or bacterial infection, among others. If it does not resolve in 24-48 hours, spreads, worsens, she starts acting ill or you are worried, I would have it checked by your regular veterinarian to see what may be going on, and if any treatment is needed.
