My cat ate melted milk chocolate on Rice Krispies. Is he safe?

Hi! My cat consumed chocolate about an 45 minutes ago. He seems okay but I am not sure the extremities of the situation or what to do. I dont know how much he ate but it was melted choclate with milk on rice krispie treats.

Rarely will cats eat enough chocolate to become toxic. Milk chocolate with the Rice Krispies should be ok. It’s the dark baking chocolate that is the most toxic and cats are quite fussy, unlike dogs, and they won’t eat as much. Keep an eye on him. Signs of toxicity starts with agitation. If he should start acting abnormally excited then you may want to have him checked at your emergency clinic. Do not try to have him vomit as that may cause more medical issues than the chocolate.
