Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Bonita! The most common cause for a female to straing to urinate and only produce small amounts is a urinary tract infections, bladder stones, crystals in the urine or bladder inflammation. UTIs are from bacterial infections which are treated with antibiotics. Your Vet would have to prescribe the medications. She should be seen by your Vet and have her urine tested. I hope this helps and I wish Bonita a speedy recovery!
