My sick dog is vomiting, not eating. Is an OTC dewormer enough?

Good morning my name is Danielle Hill this is Miley I think she is around a year old I rescued her being tied up to an empty apartment when she got here she had worms and I gave her prosense dewormer and it's not working she is now vomiting itching and not eating and throwing up bile I don't have a car and I've got a little bit of money to go to the store do you know what dewormer over-the-counter would definitely help this baby

Hi there! Unfortunately, if she's vomiting and not eating, this isn't likely to be caused by parasites - these are normally signs of a more serious illness. She may have parvo (if she isn't fully vaccinated), an intestinal obstruction due to something she ate, or may have ingested something toxic. I'm afraid a dewormer isn't likely to help her at all - she really needs to be seen by a vet right away. If cost is a concern, you may be able to find a low-cost SPCA clinic in your area that could help. You can also try calling your local shelter to see if they have any resources to assist pet owners with veterinary emergencies or urgent care.
