Why is my unspayed dog bleeding at night? Is it heat or serious?

My female non altered dog has recently been bleeding from her private parts but ony at night, what's happening? Is she okay?

She is likely in pre-estrus, the time before heat where a female bleeds. You may not notice it during the day, as she may be cleaning herself while awake. When the bleeding stops or gets very faint you will need to watch out as she may get pregnant. This will be up to three weeks after the bleeding ceases.

    It could be that Dallas is in heat which is why she is bleeding from her vulva at night, but it could be a sign of something more serious such as a pyometra. This is a life threatening infection of the uterus that is fatal without treatment. Since I can't see her in person to say if she's having a normal heat or may have a pyometra, I recommend taking her into the vet in the morning. The vet can check her out and let you know if she is ok or not. Good luck, I hope this helps!
