My cat had fever, vomiting, diarrhea. What was it? When can he play?

A week &1/2 ago my 7mo cat vomited his food and stopped eating. After a day and a half of not eating mixed with vomiting bile, I took him to the vet. He had a fever of 105.6F. Blood panel showed WBC count at 0.4 and liver was borderline failing. After a couple of days of fluids and antibiotics he was starting to act normal again, but started having red diarrhea (lasted 2-3 days). The vet did 2 parvo tests, both negative. What else could it have been? When can he play with my other cats again? Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Male | neutered | 7 months and 17 days old | 8 lbs

HI, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Harley! It could have been a severe viral infection (we don't have tests for many viruses), a toxin or secondary fatty liver from being sick and not eating. If he is 100% normal I would let him play with other cats 2 weeks AFTER he became normal. I hope this helps and I wish you all the best!
