Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Pizza in and of it's self is not toxic. If there was an excessive amount of onions then maybe. Otherwise one of 2 things may happen: 1) Nothing! 2) Molly develops vomiting and/or diarrhea from an upset stomach or pancreas. It isn't wrong to feed her a bland diet for a few days. Boil chicken breast or hamburger and mix with rice. Feed 1 cup per 20 lbs per day for 3-5 days. I hope this helps and I wish Molly the best!

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. That's quite a few slices of pizza! Luckily this should not cause any life threatening problems. She may develop vomiting and diarrhea. I would initiate a bland diet of chicken and rice for the next several days. If she becomes lethargic, persistently vomits, etc. Then I would bring her in to the veterinarian to be seen and to get the most appropriate treatment / medication. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

That wasn't good that your dog ate all that pizza! The concern about that much pizza is that not only does it cause stomach upset, the fat can cause pancreatitis. I can give you a home remedy to try to see if that helps him. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

Thanks for visiting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Pizza fortunately doesn't have anything toxic to dogs, so we have no concerns there. However, it does appear that the pizza gave him a bit of stomach upset. It is good sign that he has perked up now and seems to have started recovering already. I would continue to monitor him and offer him a bland diet of boiled plain chicken and rice or cottage cheese for the next few days, as well as 1-2 tsp of canned pumpkin (not the pie filling) in his food daily to help firm up his stools. I would also grad some probiotics from your local pharmacy or grocery store and give him that daily for the next week. My top pick here is Culturelle over the counter. This should help resolve most of his stomach upset symptoms within the next 3 days or so. If he is still having issues or doesn't seem to be improving then you should consider taking him in. Hopefully he will continue to improve and do well so he doesn't have to go in to the vet, which apparently isn't his favorite place to be. : ) I hope that Bucko continues to feel better! Best wishes and take care.

I wouldn't worry too much about your dogs getting into this amount of pizza since they are so large. They will likely do just fine. They may have a slightly upset stomach so skipping their next meal and then feeding them a bland diet of boiled skinless chicken breast and white rice for a couple of days should help. If they have more than one episode of vomiting or they are not interested in food I would call their veterinarian. They can prescribe medication to help settle the stomach.
