My puppy runs and coughs while eating. How to get him to eat calmly?

My puppy loves to run while eating. Sometimes he pauses and coughs because he’s being too energetic. I bought him a slow feeding bowl but he just gets aggrevated and tosses it or doesn’t eat at all. How can I get him to either adjust to his new bowl or eat calmly? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 3 months and 5 days old | 14.4 lbs

You can feed him in a confined space so there is no where to run or nothing else to do unless he finishes. You can also feed him smaller amounts but more times a day. Once he gets a little older this does get better
