Oakley had giardia when we first brought her home, she had very loose stool with a little blood in it. We had her on medication that we put in her food, by mouth with a syringe, and medication we used in her bath. That was a couple of months ago, now we have noticed a rash on her belly. Could the giardia have come back? She doesn’t have loose stool, and sometimes she pees in her kennel while we are at work. I wash her blankets every day. Could it be from that? Or has the giardia returned?

Giardia does not typically cause skin problems, so I doubt it is that. However, skin contact irritation, skin infection, ringworm, and mites are all common causes of skin problems in puppies. I would encourage you to have her evaluated by your veterinarian soon. Best of luck and I hope she improves quickly. Thank you for using Pet Coach.
