My puppy got bumps after bath with puppy shampoo. Is it an allergy?

I could be that Zeke is suffering an allergic reaction from the puppy shampoo, and I would not use it again on him. The bumps may go away on their own, but oftentimes an allergic reaction requires veterinary treatment to fix. As long as the bumps aren't getting bigger and his face isn't swelling (which would affect his ability to breathe), it's fine to wait until the morning to have him seen by a vet. If his bumps get larger, more appear, and/or his face starts swelling, take him into an ER vet or find a vet on call to see him right away. I hope this helps!

It definitely seems like she's reacting and it may be worth taking her to a vet for medication if this doesn't go down soon. The best thing you can do at this time is wash your dog again with just cool water. The cool water will help give some relief and will help to remove the cause of the reaction. I recommend using a shower head for 15 minutes all over her body, so there is good pressure to remove the shampoo residue. If she happens to start vomiting, has trouble breathing, or starts breathing faster than normal, then these are signs of a severe allergic reaction and I recommend taking her to the emergency vet immediately for treatment. This is probably an allergic reaction due to shampoo you used to wash her. those reactions tend to resolve within 48 hours without treatment. if the swelling becomes too large or if your dog is lethargic, take her to the vet in order to get an antihistamine injection.

Poor guy. He may have a mite infection or even an allergic skin reaction. At either rate he will need to be seen your vet for a severe reaction like this. I would suggest bathing him in an oatmeal based puppy shampoo or Duoxo calming shampoo for now. But then he should get seen by your vet to determine if he needs antibiotics to clear any potential skin infection, which is very likely present.n

The bumps could be an allergic dermatitis from fleas, insect bites, etc. It could also be a bacterial infection, even if you aren't seeing any purulent material. You could bathe him with a dog shampoo, like Epi-soothe, and see if that helps. Otherwise, he should be seen by a vet for treatment. He may need an antibiotic, anti-histamine, corticosteroid, of other medication to help.

I treated my boxer with adams flea and tick shampoo last night. This morning I notice that he has bumps mainly his back front chest and skin irritation on and around his penis area. What should I do to help him.
Hello. Harley is having a significant allergic reaction, possibly from the shampoo, possibly from something else. You may have inadvertently left some shampoo on his skin & coat, so I would rebathe him in lukewarm water & no soap. Make sure you rinse multiple times to make sure all shampoo is removed. If he is not uncomfortable, you can just watch him as it may take a day or two for the bumps to subside. If he is very itchy or uncomfortable & chewing at his skin, please see your veterinarian. This is probably due to an allergy, although it could also be infection or mites. First of all, in order to rule out skin parasites, you will need to treat with a high quality flea treatment (advocate or advantage), then ask the vet to perform a skin scrape - this might reveal an infection or a mite infestation. If all of those came back negative, the next step is to treat the allergy symptomatically and try to discover the cause of the allergy. Three main type of allergies are usually affecting pets: food allergies, flea and parasite related ones and environmental type (allergens coming from trees, pollens, dust etc etc). Some medications can be given by the vet in order to repair any possible skin lesions (like steroids and antibiotics). If the bumps developed after you bathed Ivy, she certainly could be having an allergic reaction to the shampoo, but if the rash was already there, she might be having an allergic reaction to something else or may even have a skin infection. My dog has large red bumps on him on his belly , face, armpits? He's only 9 months
This looks like an allergic reaction to something or general allergies. Make sure he is on a good veterinary prescribed flea control. You can try to shampoo him in a chlorhexidine shampoo to help heal the red bumps. You can also Give him 75 mg (3 adult) Benadryl to help with any itching. If he isn't itching and/or the bumps aren't improving, I would contact your vet for an exam to ensure he doesn't need a stronger allergy medicine or antibiotics. I hope this helps!

It could be that Zeeke is having an allergic reaction, and he's pawing at his face to try to scratch it. I would take him into a vet now for an exam. If he is having an allergic reaction, it could progress to breathing difficulties, and that becomes a medical emergency. The vet can determine if he is having an allergic reaction, and can treat with anti-histamines or steroids.
