My dog has chest and throat mucus. Is there pet store medicine?

Hi, is there a medicine i can buy from my local pet store to relieve mucus from chest, and throat of my 8 year old staff

Thank you for submitting your question. I am concerned your dog has an upper respiratory infection giving the mucus you are describing. There are not any over-the-counter products that I would recommend. If her symptoms are not resolving, she will need to see her veterinarian. In the meantime, you can try running hot water from the shower and letting the steam build up in the bathroom. She can breathe the steam for a few minutes several times per day. This can help relieve mild congestion. If she is not eating well or acting lethargic, she should see her veterinarian soon. I hope this helps!
