My cat fought, now limping, hiding, and not eating. Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Turkish Angora | Male | unneutered | 9 months and 20 days old | 7.7 lbs

Hi, a couple of days ago, my cat went out and had a fight with a cat from the street and he came back in the house limping and he was terrified. He was hiding under everything and not eating very well. I tried to look at his leg but I couldnt see anything until today i saw it like this (in the photos included) and i dont have enough money to take him to the vets so i just want to know if its serious and what i could do for it. Also he is 9 months old if that info is needed.

This is very likely the result of the cat fight he had few days ago. The lesion look like a burst abscess or a bite wound. It is quite deep and is affecting Leo systemically (not eating well, lethargic). I recommend a visit to your local vet; Leo possibly need some antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medication. Please post again on the forum if you would like to discuss it further. I hope my answer was helpful.
