My cat's paw is swollen, limping, shedding. Is it broken? See a vet?

Pet's info: Cat | Chartreux | Female | spayed | 8 years old

Hi, I've noticed my cat isn't walking on her paw probably. It's swollen and she's limping but continues to walk. She's eating and sleeping fine but seems a little agitated, she's meowing and walking from one place to another. I don't if she's being herself and I'm being paranoid. I just wanted to know if her paw is broken. And if i should take her to the Vets as soon as? Also, i noticed she is shedding short fur, which seems strange because she usually sheds long fur. Is this linked in anyway?

It does look like Nina’s paw is swollen. I would be concerned that she either has an abscess (likely from a cat fight wound) or has one or more fractured bones in her paw. I think the best course of action would be to take Nina to the vet to be examined. Your vet may recommend X-rays to have a better understanding of what is going on. As far as the shedding is concerned, cats can shed excessively when they are stressed. So you may be noticing more hair if she is stressed from being injured. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Best of luck.
