Hi there, my dog was castrated today and has been fine all evening but he’s now whining a lot and his testical sack feels solid.

This looks excellent. It is normal for the scrotum to be somewhat swollen and hard as there will be fluid and coagulated blood in the scrotum. This should go away within a week or too. The pain medicine your dog received during the surgery and possibly afterwards are likely wearing off now and he is in pain. If you received pain medicine for Diesel from your vet you should give it according to the vet's instructions. Make sure that Diesel does not lick the incision.
