Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 13 years and 7 months old | 39.6 lbs
I just noticed a bluish bulge/lump near my dogs anus with blood on it, I believe it's a hemhorroid but would like to know for sure, It doesn't seem to be causing her pain or discomfort, and I would like to know what I can do for her (at home as well as treatment options by a vet, medications, lifestyle changes etc.)

It is hard to tell for sure by the pictures, but my suspicion would be that it is either a perianal tumor that has bled, or potentially a ruptured anal sac abscess. I would highly encourage you to have her evaluated by your veterinarian as soon as possible. If it is an abscess then antibiotics will likely be needed. If it is a tumor then the veterinarian can discuss options with you. Often perianal tumors are benign. I think getting a diagnosis is the first step and then you can gather information and make decisions from there. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.

This could very well be an impacted anal gland that got infected and ulcerated. This is quiet common in dogs, especially those with soft stools. The problem needs to be treated ASAP with antibiotics. If he is licking the area a buster collar will need to be placed as well. It could also be something else like a tumor or a local infection but either way it needs to be checked by a vet.

Hello, sorry to hear about your pup. It appears that he may have an anal gland abscess which is causing some redness and discharge. These abscesses may grow and rupture from his anal glands becoming impacted. I would recommend having him evaluated by a veterinarian so that they may treat his infection. Hope this helps and best of luck.
