Tips for new budgie owners: How to best bond with your parakeet?

I'm new to owning a budgie and have had mine for almost 2 full weeks now. I know this is not enough time to form a bond, but are there any helpful tips to give to a newbie at this? He is already okay when I place my hand in his home to refill his food and water and I've done the tricks to feeding him millets by hand to get use to me. He already started eating off my hand after the 4th day of having him and ever since last Saturday, he has stepped up onto my finger about 3 times. It appears that you are doing a fantastic job already. Keep up the good work and proceed the way you have been. Realize that it will take time and there is no point in rushing things. I think you have already come a long way in a relatively short time and if you keep this up, Loki will start to trust you and be very tame.
