My dog's tongue and body look pale, but she's acting normal. Urgent?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 2 years and 2 months old | 56 lbs

Yesterday when out playing, I noticed my dog's tongue looked a little pale. Her gums look normal. Today I noticed that her ears/stomach/butt look a little pale too. I googled and started to get very nervous about what I saw. I'm going to take her to the vet as soon as I get off work, but is this something I should take off work for and go now? She's acting completely normal, very playful, bathroom normal, eating normal. Only changes-new food 2 weeks ago. routine heartworm prevention 4 days ago.

I would say that the only thing that really looks pale to me is the tongue and some dog breeds have this genetic tendency so this is also a possibility, i wouldn't be too worried about it, do take her to the vet for a checkup but it is not urgent.
