My dog ate a condom. When should I worry about an obstruction?

Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Pinscher | Male | 1 year and 6 months old | 4.6 lbs

We went on a walk with my miniture pinscher yesterday and he found a used condom on the street and I wasnt able to take it out of his mouth. It alrEady been 24 hours since that happened, and he goes toilet same as usual but a condom itself didnt come out in his feces.

Oh dear! Dogs are notorious for eating things they shouldn't on walks, unfortunately. It's possible that the condom may pass through his system without any problems, but it could also become lodged in his stomach or intestines and cause an obstruction. I would recommend continuing to monitor him closely for the next 2-3 days. As long as he's acting normal, you shouldn't need to worry. But if he develops any signs of a blockage such as repeated episodes of vomiting, not wanting to eat, acting lethargic, or not having regular bowel movements, then you will need to take him to the vet right away for an exam and x-rays, as he may need surgery to remove the condom.
