My dog is limping with a broken nail and red paw. When to see a vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 1 year and 1 month old | 45 lbs

My pup has been limping off and on again but for the most part acting completely normal.he looks to have broken one of his nails and is paw is red(probably from him licking it)should I be concern or will it clear up with time?

You are correct in that it looks like Ollie has damaged a toe nail. This can be quite painful to dog and would explain the limping. Be sure to keep him from licking the nail. If he does, it is easy for an infection to occur. As long as the lameness is resolving and the toe does not become swollen, he should heal up fine. If either of those things occur though, he will need to see his veterinarian. I hope this helps and Ollie is back to normal soon!
