Is it okay for my dog to meet a puppy without a kennel cough shot?

My son is coming to visit and bringing his puppy my dog has updated shots but not the one for boarding will this be a problem for his or my dog

This won't be a problem unless his puppy comes with Kennel Cough. Kennel cough has multiple different etiologies so the vaccination doesn't always protect but if Hooch does get kennel cough the symptoms would be less severe. As long as he has had the puppy and the puppy is not sick I would let them interact. There is always a risk of transfer of disease and if you notice anything then I would recommend taking Hooch to the veterinarian. If your son's puppy has not seen a vet or they do not know if he is healthy then I would recommend waiting until the first visit to the veterinarian to make sure the puppy was healthy.
