Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 25 days old | 4 lbs
My puppy has suddenly lost her appetite. We started mixing her wet food with dry (both pedigree chum puppy food). Last week and since then she's started picking at her food instead of Wolfing it down as usual. Is this normal?

Thank you for submitting your question. Minxy is such a small dog that she needs to be eating regularly. If her appetite change came after adding the canned food to her diet, I would stop that. She may not be liking it. If you added the canned food to encourage her to eat, then there is a primary problem affecting her appetite. Since she is so young, I would have her evaluated by her veterinarian. She may have intestinal parasites. If she does not have any medical problems, I would try a different diet and your veterinarian can recommend a probiotic to add to her food. Some of them are flavored and will entice a dog to eat. I hope this information helps!
