Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Male | neutered | 1 month and 26 days old
We feed Jasper 1/2 cup, 3 times a day, which is a little more than what's recommend on the bag, but whenever we feed him he gets so excited and scarfs it all down like he's starving. We increased 2 of the feedings to 2/3 of a cup, but he still does the same thing. Is he actually starving? Should we be feeding him more? Hes only 7 weeks old so I don't want to over feed him.

Yes you need to increase the amount of food at each feeding until he’s not so hungry. Feed him four times a day if needed to fill him up. Puppies rarely get too fat so give him enough food so he’s not starving. The amount on the bag is just a guideline. Pups that are more active and growing fast will eat more. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Jasper.
