Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Female | unspayed | 13 years and 4 months old | 9 lbs
My 9 year old shihtzu has been ill for the past week. She is suffering from liver problems and just recently jaundice and ear mites. We put her on an iv drip today from 10am-4pm. She vomited once after it clear fluid with white lumps and another time later in the night dark brown fluid with white lumps. What is wrong? Do we need to bring her to the emergency hospital? I have attached a photo of her vomit.

I'm sorry to hear that Duchess is so sick. She is likely vomiting and experiencing jaundice secondary to the liver disease you mentioned. Dogs can also experience jaundice if their red blood cells are being destroyed. She will likely need to be hospitalized again and further diagnostics perfromed (repeat bloodwork, urine sample, chest x-rays and an abdominal ultrasound). These tests can give you more information on the potential cause of her symptoms and a prognosis for her. I would take her to the emergency hospital. I hope this information helps. Good luck!
