Great question! Take Kato to the same spot each time to go potty. His scent there will encourage him to go. Stay with him outside each time he goes to potty at this spot. When he goes potty outside in this particular place, praise him and give him a treat. That will reinforce him to continue to do his business in that spot. I hope this helps!

Unfortunately, getting your dog to the use the bathroom in one very specific spot is not gong to be easy if it has run of a large area. Generally speaking, dogs natural behavior is to sniff and search for a spot that they see as suitable to mark their territory. They seldom utilize the same spot multiple times unless they see a reason to do so. That being said, if you can provide some sort of reward for your dog for using the spot that you had in mind, this might up your chances for success with Coco. The other option would be confining Coco to a smaller area until she is using the spot that you'd prefer. Once she is using this spot with some regularity, try expanding her freedom in small amounts day by day. Hope this makes sense.

My puppy Jesse is struggling to learn that going potty inside the house is bad. I’ve tried taking him out every time he tries to go, but once he is out there he won’t go. He was getting the hang of it for a short time but all of a sudden he was back
Put him on a leash and take him outside to his designated spot. Do not walk around. Just stand there and repeat "go outside" or a similar phrase. As soon as he starts to go, repeat "go outside" and praise "good dog!" as he goes. When he is finished, or if it appears that he is not going to go, bring him inside but do not remove the leash, e3ven if he has done his business. Attach it to your belt loop and keep him with you. Don’t let him out of your sight! When you see him start to circle or sniff, take him right outdoors again and repeat the process. If he does mess in the house, do not scold him unless you actually catch him in the act. In that case, say "NO!" and take him right outside. Tell him to "go outside" and praise as he finishes. Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Kuro is a bit young to have too many expectations. I would only walk him in the areas you want him to urinate in. If he won't go put him in the crate and try again. use commands like "go pee pee" or "do your business." Then when he goes make a HUGE deal about it: verbal praise, pet him, great treat and then play with him for a while. If he does poop or pee put it in the area you want him to go. 50 days old is still extremely young and Hachiko probably isn't old enough to hold his potty very long yet. He will likely need to go out at least every 1-2 hours, and about 10-15 minutes after eating, drinking, playing, and waking up. You can use this to your advantage to start taking him outside to go potty before he has an accident so he learns to go outside. If you want him to go in a certain area, then use these times to take him to that spot so he learns to go there. I have a poodle pup. Who I got at 6 months old. I cannot train her to go pee/poop outside. She will pee on her wee wee pad and poop either on there or on the floor. Often, I'll walk her outside...she'll sniff and nothing but as soon as she comes in,
I will give the potty training method that has always worked for me. Start by keeping your puppy on a regular feeding schedule, and taking away her food between meals. Take her out to potty first thing every morning, and once every 30 minutes to an hour. Always make sure she goes out after meals, first thing when she wakes up from a nap, last thing before bedtime at night, and right before you leave the house. Take her to the same spot each time to go potty. Her scent there will encourage her to go. Stay with her outside each time she goes to potty, at least until she is fully house trained. When she goes outside, praise her and give her a treat. You might want to consider crate training as part of her house training. It allows you to keep an eye on her for signs that she has to go potty, and will teach her to hold it until you put her outdoors. The crate needs to be big enough for her to stand up, turn around, and lie down, but it should not be big enough for her to go potty

Designate one area and use it. Take her outside to that spot and wait. You can use a spray attractant to keep her interest to one area. As soon as she begins to go, say "Go potty", "Do your business" or similar phrase. Once she goes, offer profuse praise and a small reward then take her for a short walk. Do this every time she goes out. Eventually, she will go 'on command' because she knows she will get a reward afterwards. Be consistent. Be patient.
