Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 2 years old | 5.5 lbs

Last night i put the medicine to my dog the metoclopramide is that okay to let my dog drink it becuase he is vomiting already a few times now although it is not prescribed by the vet, because when he is puppy this already happen and the vet that i once went to check norio they said that he can drink it but that is way last year. So today as i observing him when he drinked his water with dextrose powder hr started to throw it up with black liquid is that normal or not? I am really concern.

Throwing up black liquid is not normal, and I would be very concerned that the color of Norio's vomit is due to blood. If that is true, blood in the vomit is extremely serious as it could be caused by eating something toxic like rat poison, a foreign body, or a puncture of the GI tract. I would not give him any more metoclopramide, and I would take him into the vet immediately. I would consider the color of his vomit a medical emergency. Please take him into a vet now.
