Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 3 years and 6 months old | 15 lbs
My dog, 3 years old, has recently taken to around the same time each day, shivering. She doesn't appear to be in any pain, and after about an hour of the shivering, she's totally fine. She'll want to play, eat, drink, bark at other dogs, run around and be herself. She shows no negative signs, but 4 days in a row now she's had the shivering at roughly the same time, but is perfectly fine before and after that time. Any idea on what's causing this?

Shivering us usually a sign of pain or anxiety. Since she's fine and it's on a regular schedule I would check for activity or noise that is causing the anxiety. Beeping electronic sounds can do it or perhaps there is a school noise or other sound in the area at a specific time. Dogs can hear sounds that we can't so you may have to be a detective to figure out the cause. I recommend having music on to see if that helps, and distract her with play and treats to help her relax. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Twix.

If she’s living outside then you need to bring her inside at least at night since she’s probably cold. If she’s inside and shivering that is often a sign of pain so I recommend a veterinary exam to determine the cause of the shivering and start treatment.
