My dog has a swollen, painless wound on his neck. What is it?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 5 years and 4 months old | 150 lbs

My dog has got this swollen wound on his back just near the neck which we noticed few days back and we have touched it as to check if it hurts him or not and it turns out it doesn't hurt him. So what could it possibly be? And what cure would you suggest which would be of minimal pain?

Poor Sheru! Without seeing him in person, I can't say what is causing this swollen wound, but he could have injured himself or been injured by another dog. He needs to see a vet for this problem, as I cannot suggest a cure without seeing him. The vet can diagnose what is causing the wound, and how best to treat it. I would take him into one today. Best of luck.
