Why are my older cat's eyes bleeding and oozing with clots?

My older cat has bleeding from the inner canthus of both eyes. It clots and I gently wipe it away but it still oozes. it clots and builds up over time. What could it be. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 8 lbs
