My dog panics in his kennel. How can I stop his kennel anxiety?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 6 months and 28 days old | 50 lbs

Okay so this questions not actually about Sara I'm asking for a friend who is having trouble with her rescued Jack Russell boxer mix what would your suggested course of therapy / treatment be for a dog that has a full-blown panic attack when placed in a kennel? He literally curled up in the corner and a ball shivering and crying

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! There are medications for anxiety that can work in these cases that can be used on an as needed basis such as Trazodone. This is something her veterinarian could prescribe. Good luck and have a good night!
