My dog is aggressive. How to prevent fights when dog sitting?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 10 years and 8 months old

My dog can be a little dog aggressive and I am dog sitting this weekend. How can I keep them from fighting? How do I properly introduce myself and my dog to another dog? How do I feed my dog and the other without any problems?

If your dog can be dog aggressive then truthfully I would keep them separate. If a dog fight ensues and you are caring for the other dog then you will likely be held financially responsible. If this is going to be a dog you will care for frequently then you may want to schedule time for you and the other owner to go for a few walks together to allow them to meet on mutual territory several times before trying to allow them to be together. Best of luck and I hope they get along well. Thank you for using Pet Coach.
