Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Male | neutered | 8 lbs
Our cat started becoming restless and meowing more over the weekend. He kept trying to jump at the door knob and get out. While we were cleaning the house, he would hide. Then he came out and would not settle down. He got out on Monday and ran into the woods. He has not been back yet. Is there any advice you can give to explain why he stated to act this way and ran off? I'm very upset that he is gone.

Hi and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Oh goodness! I'm sorry to hear Ross has run off. I am sure this is very upsetting to you. Ross could have a health condition that may explain the behavior. Any health problem can be potentially uncomfortable or even painful that may have contributed to his erratic behavior. If your neighborhood has any stray cats or outside neighborhood cats around that were female and unspayed, he may have been attracted to their scent if they were in heat. I hope this helps a bit and I hope Ross returns home safely.
