Which is better regarding adult dry dog food, non-GMO or gluten free?

Hi and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! A good quality adult food is well balanced and has an animal based protein listed as the first ingredient (not corn or refined grains). There are some non GMO pet foods out there but have not really been shown to be truly any better than GMO products. Gluten free food would be something to look for certainly if your dog is allergic to gluten or grains but is really no better than foods that do contain gluten.
