Pet's info: Dog | Australian Shepherd | Female | spayed | 44 lbs
Hello there! I have 4 dogs and i give them nexgard and heartgard monthly. I saw online that there is nexgard spectra that covers all that nxgd and hrtgd do but in one pill. It also costs about 700 a year for all my pets as opposed to 1000 with the 2 monthly pills. My question is, is nexgard spectra just as safe and effective as the combination of 2 pills nxgrd/hrtgd? Please advise. Thank you.

Hi there and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Yes, NexGard Spectra has been shown to be both safe and effective at treating and preventing ticks and fleas as well as preventing heartworms in dogs. However, this product is currently only available in Europe and Australia. Hopefully it will be approved for use in the United States soon, but until then you may need to stick with the NexGard/HeartGard combination. I hope this helps and thanks again for posting!
