How to stop my neutered male cats from fighting every single day?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Male | unneutered | 11 months and 9 days old | 2.1 lbs

Hi. Both my cats are continuing to fight (it's not all the time but it is once a day now.)Some times they are able to get along but I have seen a huge decline in their playing-they simply don't play together anymore.(They still groom Each other and will lay around near Each other sometimes still.)They are both at the social maturation level, both neutered males, and come from a different mom. I've tried the separation method but it always resorts back to the once a day fight. What else can i try?

Do not separate them. let them figure it out themselves. Cats will have tiffs no matter how much they like each other. The fact that they are grooming each other and lie with each other is a good sign that they like each other. Think of their tiffs as brothers having sibling tiffs. It is normal. Let them have their once a day fights. This will eventually subside.
