Considering a macaw? How to introduce to cats and manage home space?

Hi! Im thinking of getting a Blue and yellow Macaw bird recently and ive been doing some searching but im also scared it will be a problem with introducing the bird to my cats. Also, i live in a big house and some areas will have to be off limits as to where the bird can go so i dont know how i can insure that the macaw doesnt go there. Help!

If this will be your first parrot, a macaw would not be recommended. If you have any reservations at all, do not get a macw. They are big birds that require a lot of space and a lot of care and attention.
