My new puppy has diarrhea and wakes me up early. What should I do?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 2 months and 26 days old | 41.89 lbs

Hi. I'm a new and first time dog parent - he's a mixed breed, part Chow and the other half is unknown (one parent was a street dog). Strider is a few months old and wakes me up early in the morning (3am and 5am in the last couple of days) to eliminate. He's constantly doing do throughout the morning, and I'm finding his fecees seem runny. He's been eating 2 large meals a day, and most of his eliminations have been happening before the first meal of the day. He hasn't been dewormed yet.

It sounds like Strider could be having diarrhea, and his urgent need to go will cause him to wake you up at night. Intestinal worms are common in puppies, and given he hasn't been dewormer, this could certainly be a cause of his diarrhea. It could also be he has a GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, a change in diet, or a foreign body could be causing his diarrhea. Having him seen by a vet is best for this, and I would take him into one first thing in the morning. Best of luck, I hope this helps!
