My new puppy has a strange paw wound. When should I see a vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 3 days old

A friend of mine had this puppy and left it outside all the time and I ended taken him back from them and now he had this wired wound on his paw

I would have panda examined by a vet. A wound like this could be caused by skin infection, ringworm, mange mites, chronic licking from allergies or pain in the foot, etc. The vet will look closely at his skin and may take a small sample to examine under the microscope. Then they can prescribe an appropriate treatment once the cause is known.
