My dog ate homemade play dough, throwing up and peeing. What to do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Bouvier des Flandres | Female | spayed | 5 years and 11 months old | 85 lbs

Our dog ate homemade play dough last night and has thrown up twice earlier this morning and has had lots of water too. She has played with us and has been walking around with her tail up but about 30-45 minutes ago she had an accident in the house (pee). Do you know why this may have happened?

I would recommend that you have Aly checked out by a vet immediately. Homemade play dough that uses salt can result in salt poisoning. Do not attempt to induce vomiting since it has been over 2 hours since ingestion. Here is more info: https://www.petpoisonhelpline.com/poison/homemade-play-dough/
