My cat's eye is white from flea killer. Is she blind? What to do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Burmese | Female | unspayed | 7 months and 22 days old | 2 lbs

I think I got flea killer in my cats eye. Her eye has a wicked whitening over it. Does this mean she's blind? And is using systane lubricant drops safe for her eye? Can the whitening clear and her eye vision be normal?

I'm sorry but I can't really give you advice on her eye without seeing her myself. I can tell you that eye issues are emergencies. If something doesn't look right you need to get her to a vet for an exam. If she is not blind already she can become blind from lack of proper treatment. Lubricant drops are not going to help the issue. Those drops are for "dry eye" and that is not only extremely rare in cats but it is almost unheard of in an animal this young. If she is having a reaction to something that got in her eye your vet will need to dispense the proper medication.
