Pet's info: Dog | Havanese | Female | unspayed | 4 months and 4 days old | 3.1 lbs
I have a Havanese puppy. Her weight when I got her was 1.7 pounds at 7 weeks old. She is now only 3.1 pounds and 4 months old. She has food always available to her and she seems like her energy level is good. She has also always seemed to have dry skin/hair especially down her back. I am very concerned about her lack of weight gain and the dry skin/hair... Any ideas on what I should be looking for in diagnosis or treatment?

I would recommend having Ruby examined by a vet. From the pictures, she seems healthy, but to make this assessment accurately I would need to be able to put my hands on her and feel her body. There are lots of things that can cause a puppy to grow slowly, including endocrine issues, intestinal parasites, poor diet, congenital defects, among others. The vet will also be able to examine her skin and decide if it needs medical treatment. But you may try a different type of puppy food and see if her skin and hair improves.
