My dog ate Kandy Kakes and is acting normal. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 3 years and 3 months old | 60 lbs

I came home from work to find that Manson had eaten 10 individual Kandy kakes. I'm not sure when he ate them and as of right now he's acting normal. Should I be concerned?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I’m not terribly concerned about this. There is not enough chocolate to really affect a dog this size. Possible concerns would be an obstruction from the wrappers if he ate those too OR pancreatitis flare up if there is alot of fat in those cakes. Otherwise, I’d monitor for vomiting and diarrhea. As long as he is eating and acting normally, there is little cause for concern. Best wishes to you and Manson.
